Consistency Pays Off

Vemma Elite Dave Thelan

Vemma Ambassador Dave Thelan of Scottsdale, Arizona learned about Vemma through his mentor, Vemma Royal Ambassador Anthony Powell. “I started as a customer first and loved the Verve,” says Dave. When he realized what a great product Verve was, he was hooked and joined Vemma early this year, bringing a large team with him from his previous company. “In Vemma, we’ve got the product of the century and the system of the century to market it worldwide, and being a part of bringing the company to a billion is very exciting!” When asked what the secret to his success is, Dave says it all boils down to hard work. “Consistency, consistency, consistency. I figure out a way to do 40 to 50 presentations a month, no matter what.”

Goodbye 4 hour commutes

Before starting his business, Dave got a Bachelors degree in Health and Nutrition from Penn State University and worked in a traditional career. “I was working 14 hours a day at my job in the healthcare industry and doing a four hour commute to and from New York City every day,” he says. “I actually slept in my office a lot of nights. I did that to still come up short on the bills some months and have nothing for retirement.” After learning about network marketing, he shifted his focus to build a career where he could escape the crazy commute and work for himself. “My short term goal was to fire my boss and I was able to do that in about 7 months.* Long term, I’d like to travel all over the world and eventually make six figures per month through helping others achieve their goals in Vemma,” he says.*

No experience required

Dave started in this industry with no prior experience. Since it was so different from his career in the healthcare industry, he had to start from scratch. “Before I started my network marketing business, I had no business experience and no computer experience,” he says. “I could send an email — that’s about it. But, I was willing to work hard and I guess at the time when I started I was smart enough to realize that if I already knew it all I’d already be a millionaire. I wasn’t! I just had to follow the successful people that were willing to train me.” Dave disciplined himself to do what his leaders were doing, eventually reaching a significant level of success.* “The best advice I received was that you have to pay the price of discipline now or pay the price of regret later. Either way you are going to pay.”

Open road ahead

As someone who once felt enslaved by a former career that required horribly long days and a grueling commute, Dave appreciates freedom more than anything else about his Vemma business. “What’s always motivated me is to strive to have more choices in life — to choose to do things I want and never have money be the issue again. At this point, if I choose to drive a nicer car, I do it. If I choose to fly first class instead of coach, I do it. If I choose to give more to my favorite charity, I do it. Your choices in life multiply when you work consistently and you stay connected daily to your burning desire of what you truly want.”*

Success Tips from Dave Thelan
  • Never say, “I can’t.” Always ask yourself, “How can I?”
  • Figure out a way to remain consistent to do at least 40-50 presentations per month — no matter what!
  • Stay connected daily to your burning desire and what you truly want. Never settle!
  • Don’t listen to broke people about how to make money. They’re broke!
